I tried so hard to write something for ASR3's birthday. I failed. I have an original plot bunny that's eating me alive right now... a frontier world that had been cut off because of an interplanetary war is struggling to survive. One of the old customs they've brought back is a penal system based on slavery. But this is not a world where slavery is sexy fun. Nope, but it does give lots of chances for H/C.

Since someone asked, I want to clarify something for anyone who's looking at my Lulu stuff. The second book I have up there, "Dead Center," has zero kink. Zip. Nada. It's actually a ghost story about a teenage boy who "wakes up" dead and finds out that his father is a suspect in his murder. So, don't get it expecting kinky fun.

Remember, this is not a continuous story, but a number of stories all set in the same universe. We're skipping ahead some.

When I first this up at Moonridge two years ago, I got a grand total of two LOC, which made me think that maybe these stories weren't so good. This year, I've gotten better feedback, so maybe these aren't that bad. So, starting with the story that started it all, I'm putting out the story of what happens when Blair ends up wanting a child, and Jim is right there on the fifty yard line for the whole thing. The stories have a timeline connecting them because it is not a continuous story.

T ime l i n e :

1993	Jim joins Major Crimes.
1994 October	Jim begins a stakeout outside an old lumber mill near Auburn, following a lead on the Switchman.
1998 May	Blair drowns in the fountain at Rainier
1999 May	Blair disowns his own dissertation on Sentinels.
1999 June	Blair turns down the badge but accepts a position as a consultant after the newspapers retract the fraud story (on page 20), explaining that Blair had been overly 'dramatic' with the claim of fraud in order to distract the press. The press was not amused, but the brass thought it showed Blair was a true 'team player.'
1999 December	Lawyers hired by Jim settle a lawsuit against Rainier and Sid Graham for a tidy sum that pays off Blair's student loans and leaves him some in the bank, but Rainier refuses to reinstate him saying that he had disgraced the university and missed too many deadlines. Blair's response: screw you.
